For a purchasing manager looking to buy staff clothing for their company it can prove to be very complicated to decide on the right polo shirt for the work environment. There are many different makes and options making decisions on the right one difficult.
Below i have outlined a few things you should look for when choosing poly/cotton polo shirts:
1. The % mix between polyester and cotton. Remember cotton will help with breathability and the polyester will help with durability. The usual mix is 65% polyester and 35% cotton. The more polyester the less you will need to iron.
2. The weight of the garment. A standard weight of polo shirt is around 185gsm. The heavier you go generally the more durable however if you work in a hot environment this would not be a wise decision.
3. Two or three button placket. This is simply a matter of preference whether you like the collar to be open wider or not. It also depends on which you think is smarter.
4. Ribbed cuff or open cuff. If your staff are going to be reaching a lot in their work it is recommended that they choose polo shirts with open cuffs as otherwise they will find their reach restricted. If it is important that their clothing does not get trapped in machinery then the ribbed option is the best as it keeps the cuffs close to the arm.
5. Shape retention in collar. If it is important to have the collar keep its shape you might want to look for one with a stand-up collar which will give it that extra bit of support (Henbury polo shirts have this benefit).
6. Washing performance. If the garment is going to be washed regularly you need to look for a poly/cotton polo shirt that can be washed up to 60 degrees. This will have better performance after repeated washing.
